SICILY. Eryx. Circa 480-472 BC. Litra (Silver, 12 mm, 0.54 g, 12 h). ERYK-ИOИΙ Eagle with closed wings standing left on Ionic capital. Rev. Crab; below, ΙΛ; all within shallow circular incuse. HGC 2, 296 var. (no ΙΛ). SNG ANS 1340 var. (no capital). SNG Lockett 746 var. (no ΙΛ). Very rare and beautifully toned. Minor traces of corrosion on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
